“The color of the ocean, the color of the setting sun. Although I could only see those colors for a brief moment, it’s hard for me to forget the feeling of how they saved me in my time of need. My studio is full of buckets with the glaze diluted with water that I must have tested a thousand times... but it just never looked like the colors I saw back then. That moment had desired to mingle with who I was, so I worked and worked to create... and yet I failed to understand, continuing to create with something not being right. We’re influenced in many ways while we’re alive. We become rigid and tend to stick to our preconceptions... all we wanted was to be forgiven, so we wanted to forgive. The sensation I felt which was jumbled up with all these things - this is what I want to create with my own hands.”
