Hiro Sugiyama National Treasures Black Painting

In his Black Painting series, Hiro Sugiyama has previously depicted silhouettes of works by artists such as Warhol, Picasso, and Matisse, expressing the space between the concrete and the abstract.
The new theme for his Black Paintings is National Treasures.
In addition to the works he presented at his solo exhibition National Treasures held at Komyoin, a subtemple of Tofukuji Temple in Kyoto in October 2024, this exhibition will also feature 10 new works.

Hiro Sugiyama

Born in Tokyo in 1962. Studied under Yumura Teruhiko. In 1997, he founded the creative unit Enlightenment. Active in the fine arts field, he has showcased his works in exhibitions both in Japan and abroad.
