Shimura Noriyuki is a ceramicist creating pottery based on the concept of a journey to a waterside paradise where various creatures such as legendary beasts, monsters, wild animals, herbivores, birds, and reptiles gather.
This exhibition will feature new works such as everyday tableware, objects, and lamps.

Shimura Noriyuki
Born 1956 in Shizuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Tamagawa University’s Department of Art (Ceramics) in 1979 and studied under Seto ceramist Kato Sho in the same year. In 1990, he opened Kaiza Studio in Izu Kogen.
The chameleon is likened to the “pleasure of the wise” because of its transformation, diversity, mystery, and the need for consideration.
The thing that the wise men love changes its form and lives in the Roppongi jungle.
