For All Facilities

  • Our rules regarding mandatory mask-wearing are amended. Effective as of March 13, 2023, we request our visitors that they decide individually whether or not to wear a mask. Please do note, however, there may be cases where mask-wearing may be requested to our patrons for some operational reasons.
  • Visitors may be asked to present their belongings for security inspection.
  • Please make a note of the following activities in the galleries.
    • No potentially harmful substances and implements.
    • No raw and perishable items including real flowers.
    • No large luggages such as suitcases, umbrellas.
    • No pets (all guide dogs, hearing assistance dogs, and other service dogs for those in need are welcome).
    • No visitors under the influence of alcohol.
    • No smoking as well as any consumption of food or drinks (including all candies and chewing gums).
    • Please respect the rights of other visitors.
  • Please comply with all the other rules and regulations applicable to all visitors.

Mori Art Museum / Mori Arts Center Gallery

  • Lighting level, temperature and relative humidity are controlled in all galleries for the conservation of artworks.
    It would be well-advised to bring a jacket or a pull-over of the sort upon visiting in case you might feel cold in the galleries.
  • Please make a note of the following activities in the galleries.
    • No potentially harmful substances and implements.
    • No raw and perishable items including real flowers.
    • No large luggages such as suitcases, umbrellas, tripods, and monopods.
    • No touching of the artworks and cases on display.
    • No using of mobile phones for phone calls in the exhibition areas.
    • No unauthorized photo shooting and video filming.
  • The use of pencil is permitted, however, other writing materials may not be used.
  • Please respect the rights of other visitors.
  • Please comply with all the other rules and regulations applicable to Museum visitors.

Sky Deck

Rooftop Sky Deck will be closed until further notice.

  • Sky Deck is an outdoor observation deck located 270 meters above sea level.
  • For visitors’ safety, the Sky Deck is subject to closure in the event of strong winds, rain, snow, and approaching thunderclouds, abnormally high temperatures, or any other bad weather conditions.
  • Please read the following to help prevent belongings from being blown off the deck or falling. We appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation.
    • Visitors may bring cameras for commemorative snapshots, mobile phones, and binoculars secured with neck straps onto the Sky Deck. Please, however, place backpacks and all other belongings in the Sky Deck coin lockers (Your coin will be returned when you unlock the locker).
    • Before entering, please cooperate with staff as they check for items that may be blown away (You will be asked to place hats, scarves, and other items in the lockers if they are at risk of being blown off the deck).
    • Please refrain from taking photographs using tripods, unipods, or selfie sticks.
    • The deck has steps. Children unable to walk on their own, people who have difficulty walking, and users of baby strollers and wheelchairs are asked to refrain from entering.
    • Please refrain from entering or moving about the Sky Deck while holding a child or with a child riding on your shoulders, as doing so is extremely dangerous.
    • Eating, drinking, smoking, and other dangerous actions are prohibited on the Sky Deck. Bringing hazardous materials onto Sky Deck is also prohibited.
    • Admission may be restricted during busy periods.
    • The management reserves the right to refuse admission in all other cases if found dangerous.
    • In the event of an emergency or sudden change in the weather, please evacuate as instructed by the staff.

  • The Mori Art Museum is open every day during exhibitions, and closed to the public when there are no exhibitions.
  • Tokyo City View is open every day throughout the year, however may be partially closed, or entry to certain areas restricted, due to exhibitions and events and/or their preparation.
  • The Mori Arts Center Gallery opening days/hours depend on exhibitions and closed to the public when there are no exhibitions.
  • Facilities may be closed to the public during special events.
Q : Are the facilities open during the Golden Week and New Year holidays?
A : Yes. All facilities are open unless special events closed to the public are scheduled.
Q : Are the facilities crowded? Do I have to wait in line?
A : It is encouraged to make advance booking for a designated date/time slot and purchase the admission ticket on the dedicated booking website. See here for details.

Q : How much is the admission fee?
A : Please see under “Admission & Tix” on the “Visit Us” page for the pricing.
  • Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View ticket prices vary depending on whether the ticket is for a weekday or a weekend/holiday, and whether it is purchased online or on-site on the day of your visit.
  • If purchased online, a discounted online rate will apply.
  • Various discounts will however NOT be applied to tickets purchased online.
  • Depending on the exhibition, admissions to the Mori Arts Center Gallery would vary. Please see “Admission & Tix” on the “Visit Us” for details.
Q : Where can I buy tickets?
A : Tickets can be purchased on the ticket vending machines or at the counter of “Museum & Observatory Tickets / Information” on the 3rd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower on the day of your visit. Also tickets are sold online, on the dedicated booking website. However, the method of buying tickets may differ according to the exhibition and/or event. Please see the “Admission & Tix” section for the latest information.
Q : Can I make a reservation or purchase tickets in advance?
A : Advance bookings can be made on the booking websites. However, the methods of ticket purchase may differ depending on the exhibition and/or event. Please see the “Admission & Tix” section for the latest information.
Q : Are there e-tickets? Where and how can I buy one?
A : E-tickets can be purchased on the dedicated booking website called “Museum & Observatory Tickets | Membership Website.”

Q : Are there discounts for the disabled?
A : The disabled along with one accompanied companion/caregiver will be entitled to free admission to Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View Indoor Observation Deck upon presenting a Disabled Person’s Handbook or equivalent form of government-issued identification. See notes under “Admission & Tix” section on the “Visit Us” page.

Q : Is there a passport that allows unlimited access to the facilities?
A : The Mori Art Museum’s “MAMC, Mori Art Museum Membership Program” and the Tokyo City View’s “Tokyo City View Passport” are advantageous services with special benefits that allow unlimited admission into the facilities during the period of validity. Please see the respective websites for details.

Q : Can I use credit cards / e-money?
A : Credit cards can be used for purchases on the ticket vending machines and at “Museum & Observatory Tickets / Information” (3F, Roppongi Hills Mori Tower), Museum Shops, and Museum Cafe & Restaurant. E-money can also be used at the ticket counter and Museum Shop (exclude some of the special shops) as well. Only credit cards however are accepted on the dedicated booking website.

Q : I have a complimentary admission/discount ticket.
How could I make my advance booking for a designated date/time slot?
A : Advance bookings for some of the exhibitions can be made on the dedicated booking website, specifically from the “Booking Visit” calendar. If you cannot find the calendar, no bookings are required. See here for more information about online booking while using your complimentary admission/discount ticket.   • Yes. The Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View accept reservations for groups of 15 or more from three months in advance until 20:00 on the day before the stated arrival date.
  • For Mori Arts Center Gallery group reservations, please call the Group Reservation Desk (+81-(0)3-6406-6771).
  • Please contact the Group Reservation Desk (+81-(0)3-6406-6771) when arriving in school classes.
Q : Are there any group admission discounts?
A : A group admission rate applies to a parties of 15 or more persons only when the booking is made in advance. See the “Visit Us” for details.

Q : How do I get there from JR Tokyo Station?
A : From Tokyo Station take the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line to Ginza Station, or the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line to Roppongi Station. Use Exit 1C for direct access from the station concourse.
Or take the JR Yamanote Line (or Keihin-Tohoku Line) from Tokyo Station to Yurakucho Station, then the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line to Roppongi Station. Use Exit 1C for direct access from the station.

Q : How do I get there from Haneda Airport?
A : Take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station and transfer to the Toei Oedo Line (Daimon Station) to Roppongi Station, then walk four minutes from Exit 3.
Q : Where is the entrance to the facilities?
A : Entry is via the Museum Cone. Please proceed through the Museum Cone to the "Museum & Observatory Tickets Information" located on the 3F of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. Take one of the elevators going directly to the 52F. Once there, follow the signs to the Mori Art Museum (located on the 53F) and the Sky Deck (Rooftop).

A : The Roppongi Hills Mori Tower employs a state-of-the-art vibration damping system that reduces shaking in the event of quakes or swaying due to wind.

Q : Can I learn more about the artworks on display?
A : We hold free Gallery Tours for all exhibitions (exhibition ticket required). Audio guides are also available in most exhibitions.
Q : Is foreign-language information on the artworks available?
A : All material - including pamphlets, brochures, signage, and publications - concerning the Mori Art Museum is available in both Japanese and English. This includes the Audio Guide provided for exhibitions. Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation is available at most of the learning programs such as lectures and symposia.
Q : Are there any programs for children?
A : Children are welcome to join in the Family Programs at the Mori Art Museum. When visiting the Museum, please hold hands for children’s safety - to keep them from falling, or touching or bumping the artworks.
Q : Are there any programs for the disabled?
A : For some programs, we offer sign language interpretation on request.
Sign Language Tours and Verbal Imaging Tours (Access Programs) are usually organized for each exhibition.

Q : Does the Mori Art Museum have its own collection?
A : The Mori Art Museum has been building its own collection - of contemporary artworks primarily from Japan and the Asia-Pacific region since the summer of 2005.

Q : Is the Mori Art Museum’s permanent collection available for viewing?
A : The Collection is not on permanent display, however since 2015 we have been running a MAM Collection (exhibition program) series featuring particular works from the Collection in the context of various themes. The MAM Collection program series usually runs concurrently with another main exhibition, so just like other exhibitions, the series runs only for a particular (temporary) length of time.

Q : May I take photographs using tripods, unipods, or selfie sticks?
A : Yes, however, we may ask you to refrain from using camera stands
  • when the area is crowded (such as during a fireworks festival or a similar event), or when a large crowd is expected,
  • when we are holding a special event on the 52nd floor,
  • when taking pictures will create problems for other visitors (e.g. long photo sessions, blocking the area, interrupting the flow of people, using large equipment, hidden cameras, etc.),
  • when the activity is for business purposes; when you are taking photographs of group activities for a purpose other than pleasure, or when we otherwise ask you not to use a camera stand. (Photo-shoot activities for these purposes require our permission in advance. Please contact us for details.)
  • We may also ask you to refrain from using a camera stand when it might generally endanger safety within our facility.
Please refrain from using camera stands on the Sky Deck.
