Born in Thailand and affectionately known as “Tam-kun” in Japan, Wisut Ponnimit has held numerous exhibitions and has been engaged in creating artwork. Mamuang, a popular character created by Wisut has become popular not only in Japan and Thailand, but also in many other countries through social media.
With this, we are proud to announce that the “Mamuang Gift Shop” will open within the MORI ART MUSEUM SHOP for a limited time only. A variety of goods will be available for purchase at this shop.

Wisut Ponnimit
Born in 1976, Wisut is a Thai manga artist based in Bangkok. After debuting as manga artist in Thailand in 1998, Wisut came to study in Japan and spent 4 years from 2003 to 2006 in Kobe. In 2009, he received the Manga Encouragement Award in the Japan Media Art Festival for his manga hesheit aqua. His major manga works include Blanco, hesheit and Mamuang. Apart from manga, Wisut continues to create animation and music works. His major manga works include Blanco, hesheit and Mamuang. He also produced the music video for Amber Colored City – The Morning of The Shanghai Crab by Quruli. In 2020, he published Happy Mamuang and Hoguhogu Mamuang-chan.
