Japan Kōgei Association is an organization comprising of traditional kōgei artists and craftspeople, centered around the holders of Important Intangible Cultural Properties (Living National Treasures). It consists of artists and other related people who have devoted themselves to the mastery of the knowledge, skills, tools and materials that have been passed down from the past, using these to create appealing items for the future without resorting to the outré.

This exhibition features ten artists who have been selected from among the full members of the Japan Kōgei Association and we hope that it will enable as many people as possible to come into contact with and enjoy the attraction of their work.
