Takahashi Maho depicts the process by which personal memories and emotions are transformed into sensations shared with others and society. Through motifs such as girls and building blocks, she visualizes the relationship between the individual and society, as well as intimacy and distance. In recent years, working primarily with oil paint, she has quietly revealed how values emerge from childhood—a time when we are not yet fully defined—and continue to be reshaped over time.

Born in 1992. In 2019, Takahashi announced the release of ANOKO, a series based on the motif of childhood. For her studio, she makes use of a now-closed nursery school that she once attended in her hometown in Chiba Prefecture. Takahashi creates both two- and three-dimensional works with various media. She participated in both Art Fair Tokyo 2025 and Art Central Hong Kong 2026 and is currently active as a freelance artist in Japan and abroad. Takahashi plans to expand her possibilities for expression by trying her hand at wood carving and ceramics.
